Diboll sold to Bluebonnet Publishing

Bluebonnet Publishing, LLC of Kilgore, TX, has purchased the Diboll Free Press from Granite Publishing Partners, Inc. The sale was completed Thursday, November 29, 2007.

We are glad to see a well-established newspaper company and its managing partner, Bill Woodall, take over the Diboll Free Press. Bill comes from a newspaper family well rooted in east Texas and we're excited about the opportunities this acquisition provides Bill, his company and the Diboll community.

Current staff will stay on at the newspaper while Lois Cooper, publisher of for the past year, will be returning to Marlin, TX effective immediately.

Bluebonnet Publishing owns the Kilgore News Herald along with three neighboring weeklies.
